Spooky Earthquakes

Last night we were at the "Möhlin Swatches" for dinner (an invitation that Fi had managed to forget). The after dinner conversation turned to the series of earthquakes experienced in Basel before Christmas. The worst was a "3.7", although there were 13 micro quakes in one day. The 'quakes were caused by a group of geologists who were experimenting with extracting heat from the Earth's crust by pumping water through it. The quakes were caused when the geologists turned up the presure in an attempt to make the rock more porous. Under a city! Muppets!!

Anyway, the conclusion was that there shouldn't be any more 'quakes because the geologists had been ordered to stop. It appears the muppets are back in business though. This morning at 8.00AM there was a 3.1 'quake in Basel. It didn't wake us up here in the country though!

How spooky is that?
