Despite tropical storm Cyrile doing it's best to mess up transport within Europe I arrived back from Lüneburg almost on time on a suprisingly smooth flight. Fortunately there was very little damage in Switzerland from the storm, although a train was blown clean off the tracks in Appenzel in the east of the country. Unfortunately the storm did prevent me from getting any caching done.....although it didn't stop me enjoying the local beverages ;-))
Today was another super warm day (14°C). I went out on the bike for a short ride and didn't even need to wear my gloves! Also went geocaching and can report that I was more successful than last weekend, finding a new "mystery cache" on the Mumpfer Fluhe. I did have some help from some fellow Geocachers who were looking for the same treasure before flying off to Israel to find some more in the sunshine. It should be said that the Swiss are really friendly and nothing like what you read about in all the ex-pat "guides". The view from the cache over the Rhein was marvelous and well worth the short walk. Fortunately the rain held off and the sun eventually came out.
The weather forecast is for a complete change to seasonal cold weather with a temperature of minus 6°C with heavy snow predicted by Wednesday. Personally I'll believe it when I see it. Still, the Polizei will be kept busy if the frost returns. Last Tuesday morning they were stopping drivers who had not cleared their windscreens sufficiently and were even taking photo's as evidence (at 06:30AM).
Come on weather. Bring on the white stuff! Well at least after Fi gets winter tyres put on little Brum........
