Today in Basel was a wonderful Spring day. Bright, breezy and 15C. That is quite exceptional weather for January as it should be closer to minus 15C. My Italian colleagues from Naples were obviously quite happy about the situation, however, the locals are getting increasingly worried about the prospects for skiing. I guess I will wait until next year before buying some snow shoes.
Set a record this morning for bed to office time (42 minutes). Forgot to set the alarm last night and was awoken by Fi shortly followed by a realisation that a global meeting was to start in Basel in 40 minutes. Hopefully the Polizei were not hidden behind any bushes on the way in!
I heard today that the Swiss authorities have been analysing water samples from the Rhein and have concluded that there are around 10,000 cocaine users in the Basel region. That's quite some deduction. I'm sure it's also secretly claimed that they are all on the German side of the river ;-))
