Unfounded Optimism

It's actually turned a bit colder in the last couple of days, although not enough to bring any snow. Even the world cup downhill at Wengen had to be run on artificial stuff.......and now the environmentalist lobby are raging over the impact of the chemicals involved which will soon be leaching into Switzerland's rivers. Quite right too! Damn ski boars.........I really can't see what all the fuss is about.

Anyway thought I'd do a multi stage geocache yesterday which entailed a 3 hour walk......and an hour searching a slippery rock outcrop to find a Tupperware container. I must be mad, especially as I didn't find it. Today I'm black and blue from all of the falls and knocks!

Tried out the new Thai restaurant in Wegenstetten yesterday with some good friends. It was almost empty but the food was good. We were stopped (again) by the local polizei on the way home. Unmarked car (silver beamer) and a not very enthusiastic copper. Anyway, all "tip-top" and no sign of a breathalyser, unlike last time (which was also "tip-top" I should say).

Today was a beautiful day with loads of sun although only a few degrees positive. Had a 7:30 AM meeting in Basel so arrived at the office at 6:30AM. Madness. Still, I knocked off at 3:00PM and managed to scrape an hour on the bike before dark. Early night tonight as I'm off to Lüneburg in North Germany for business in the morning. I'm optimistic that I'll get time to do some caching.......probably won't find them.....I'll let you know. In any case the brewery in Lüneburg is excellent which means I'll have to train harder next weekend ;-))

Tchuss!

Hello Stephen and Fiona,
I am really pleased to be reading your blog.
I haven't asked Jamie how he knew about you. I presume you have seen his blogs.
I also have a blog - well 2 actually. I started one which records the more exciting events in life. This year I decided just to have a daily diary.
Paula's diary blog: http://pjmsdailybitsandpieces.blogspot.com/
Paula's Blog: http://grandma-p-ramblings.blogspot.com/
Both the blogs are kept just for family and friends I tell about it.
We also skype.
Send an email some time either to
monkland@onetel.com
or
monkland119@googlemail.com
I hope your trip to Luneberg was rewarding.
Bye for now,
Love from Paula and Bill (Aunty and Uncle).
